I see the Norcal group is going again this year. On top of that Chevy Thunder has hinted he may bring his freshly restored COPO. I plan to make it if all this happens.

Looks like this is the weekend before Monterey this year...not sure I'm up for bringing a car, but would like to see the COPO as well.

From an old post, and a fading memory I believe Dreamweaver is planning on smoking Bowfinger's tires ;). That would be worth the trip over :D.

It would be nice to park all the Camaros together like we did a few years back. Any chance you can talk to Carl and see if he can work something out better than last year? It seems once the Camaros rolling in with Steve pulled in they opened the rest of the spots to anyone. The 2nd round of Camaros to roll in ended up 3-4 rows over to get spots together.

You would be passing SM and diving to SB then back tracking. You guys should have main contacts for each group so you can let each other now your final car count so if you do not hit the gig at the same time whomever gets there first can save enough space for everyone.

And by the way ... Rennsport Reunion IV is at Laguna this year so I am not participating in the Monterey Historics so I will be at the San Mateo show. Hope you didn't bet any money :)

Well then we could change the meet up spot-it's still early. And getting some one to save 5 to 10 spots is like hearding cats- just not do able...
So you plan on being at the event Van... bring the "Glendora Chevy" Lic plate frame...;) Good Buddy!!!:) Then I won't bet...

Steves and the current meeting spot are 20 miles apart and Steves is 10 miles past the location of the show for most CLNC club members. The ideal plan if we were to all roll in together is to converge onto 92 at the same time. That is if the Steves group is coming down 101. It's just a matter of adjusting the leave times so both groups hit 92 at the same time.

I paid $35 for the Glendora frame. I think it is worth at least $5,000.00 now that it has been on one of my cars but for you $35 or better yet an interesting car related trade

Dennis

Your two closest choices are: A) at 92 and El Camino Real on the North West corner is a little mall with a 24 Hour Fitness, CVS Pharmacy and a Chase Bank or B) one exit from the show off 92 is the College of San Mateo.
At the time in the morning when we would meet I think the CVS parking lot would accommodate all of us and there is a Starbucks across the street for those who need coffee.

That's where we meet last year- but you can't get everybody to change- who's leading the group from Steve's? That's who we need to get too... and Zuma isn't answering...
And Van 2 years ago it was free... The Clipenger frame was the one that was going to cost me...

I do not recall that but two years ago I could afford to give stuff away and had more faith.... this horrible economy has made me unmercifully cheap.:) Of course you could always wait it out until things turn around then I would be happy to give it to you...

One of the Clippenger frames came on my car the other I bought, and you don't even want to know how long it took to find and what I paid.

Mike - Any ideas as to a meeting place? That Safeway parking lot near 92 on El Camino Real (Starbucks is on the cornner) is a good place- about a mile from the main drag / street to the show.. Think about it and let me / us at the Camaros Limited group know...PLEASE!!

Well the fact is...we will leave HWY 101 and hit HWY 92 staying on the freeway the whole time...It is only about 2 miles up 92 till the turnoff on to Aleimda de las Pulgas, then from there it is only one block... It won't be much of a caravan...and it would be a pain for all of us to pull off onto El Camino...( we might have 25 or so cars, much more than last year... but hard to tell at this point) If you want to caravan...you might want to meet us at Steves in San Bruno...it's only about 15 minutes up the freeway to San Bruno Ave... or just wait for us outside the show...just sayin...:)

I can show up and voice my opinion that we want to tag along as you guys alway get the good spots and the rest get whats left. We just want some good spots and to be able to PARK TOGETHER that's all Mike and this takes some coordination between the 2 groups- that's all. Just like when we did the TC meet up 5 or 6 years ago.

Hi Mike- Yea.. I would say about 11 or 12- Dan DeMayo (a member of Golded Gate) was going to also do the #'s thing to Carl too but the more the better. We will try and be out front of the event at 7:30am- If you are early (also w/ Dan's help) please save us some spots in "Camaro Row" so we are not out in the sticks like last year...
Thanks Big Mike and Dan D!!!!:)

Zuma/Mark: Actually I've been to one GGSMU meeting and plan on joining the Club. I've met alot of the members at local shows and there's a lot of talent to draw from plus they're a nice group of people.

I'm going to stop by Friday night to check out the layout.

Zuma: I'll be there by 7 am and park in the garage if need be, then I can help manage Camaro Row as well.

PM me if you want a cell phone number-

Dan, Mark & Mike - I spoke with Carl and like Dan and I talked about he knows Dan will be there early before either group. I told Carl about 12 from CLNC (optimistic) and he said he had heard 8-10 will be coming from Steve's. Carl said he planned on 25+ just to cover the bases.

Hey no worries... I will email Carl to try to hold the 2nd row like always...I will get there around 7ish...Remember its just like any carshow... If you want to stake out a spot the earlier the better, this is a popular show, (This will be my 9th or 10th) Try to make it there early... We will try to hold it as long as possible, but no promises...Dan since you are new, check in with Steve Cavillo he will be incharge of parking at the show...You need to coordinate with him, and get his blessing...It might be difficult for some of the old salts getting directions from an unfamilar face...:)

No fee to look...
There is a parking garage next to the event and it's free to park.
That is the correct address and location- enter on 20th ST. near HWY 92 and El Camino Real- look on MapQuest or Google.

I live in stockton I plan on towing my car to steves and driving over with everyone. My car has 4.56 gears and only goes about 50 maybe 55 on the highway. I see it's about 20 miles from steves to the show. I was wondering if its a long highway run from steves to the show? And if my car will be able to keep up?

 Not exactly sure, but I would imagine it's much closer - maybe 1/2 that ...
You could do the 10 or so miles down 101 to 92 and exit at Alameda de Las Pulgas in San Mateo - or - take El Camino Real (82) south to Crystal Springs turn right and follow to Alameda de Las Pulgas then left and follow to just past 92 ... this would make it all local streets and under 45mph.

Hopefully someone more familiar with area will chime-in with better route from Steve's

It's 11 miles down hwy 101 and then hwy 92 to the show, maybe 20 minutes. Taking El Camino is 1 mile less but with stoplights etc it might be 10+ minutes longer to get there.

I think Mike and Skip drove in with Steve's group last year and will know which route the grp took! You may have a problem finding a place near Steve's to leave a trailer and tow vehicle. It might just be better to contact Carl and find out where he's putting trailers and tow rigs.

well if you do show up at Steves,...we try to keep under 60 just because of the gears in some of the cars...we normally cruise down 101 in the slow lane... Parking your trailer might be an issue...there is a parking structure next to the show that might be your best bet but if you want to meet us at Steves, it is Sat and Parking might be ok, just not a sure thing... if so, see you there early...:)

Very nice show, lots of very nice cars, I would hate to be a judge there. 99% of the cars could have won something. I don't know how you would even judge the first gen Camaros, they were all nice.

As usual the Team Camaro guys didn't let me down. I have still yet to meet anyone from here that I wouldn't want to see again or hang out with. Very cool group of guys.

Those of you that are from the bay area or surrounding areas, this is a show you should try to make it to. The setting is perfect, easy to get to, etc..

There are some awesome cars on this site, Dennis', Gary, Skip, Van, Zuma (Mike), Angel, Mark, (hope I didn't leave anyone out) all have very nice cars.

Gary must be sleeping in, he has the group shots, I'm sure he'll post picks before too long. As always great to hang out with everyone! Royce had jaws dropping when he drove in and again when some of the trailer crowd learned how far he drove his blown SBC Buick with 4:11's to get to the show! Along with those Royce mentioned add Lane, Dean, Carl, John, Brian and Dan to the list as well. And for a little extra icing on the cake, Royce, Dan and I all won awards!

You're right he did say his name was Brian. I'm terrible with names, but never forget a face. Sorry guys.

The drive home was fun, hit a bit of traffic from Oakland through Berkeley. Got off the freeway in Richmond and cruised through the town I grew up in, stopped for gas in Pinole and then back on the freeway, as I got towards home it was hot (96*) and hit some more traffic, had to keep an eye on the temp gauge, but made it home with no issues.

When I stopped for gas, there were a couple of guys in a truck getting gas that saw me on the bay bridge, turns out one of them has a 1966 Shelby Mustang, nice guy. Just another reason to drive it, you always meet someone new.

It's funny that people always question if I drive the car. People use to drive these old cars accross country. I guess I look at it differently. I built it to drive it, so I drive it. If something happens I have a cell phone (something they didn't have back in the day).

Ron was funny, but I can't say that I blame him for being careful with his car, it is very nice. I just couldn't own something that nice and not drive it.

I got 7.5 mpg, including a few "spirited" throttle openings, traffic, and town cruising. 140 miles round trip, 18.66 gallons of fuel @ ~$3.96 per gallon =$73.92 + $10 for bridge toll, hanging out with friends and looking at all the nice cars, Priceless.

I bet if I would have borrowed a trailer, and pulled the car with my Dodge Diesel (lifted dually), the cost would have been close. Bridge toll would have been about triple.

That is certainly one of my favorite shows to attend, hands down. Carl and Co. put on a great show and this one has great food as well.

It was great getting there early and seeing the flock fill the stable. Dreamspeed's offer was very kind and I sincerely support their efforts in becoming a Pro-touring force to be reckoned with.

@Bob Very nice to meet a HMB Camaro owner! Thanks for the company in the AM.

@Skip. Glad you're out of hibernation! Trade!?!?

To everyone else- thanks for making it a great Camaro filled show!

I just added the names because I didn't read your post before clicking on the picture. Then I went back to the post, read the names and clicked on the picture again as I was repeating the names in my head but forgot them by the time I was looking at the picture again. :o ;)

This was a very well run show. They treat the entrants very good. 2 BBQ lunch tickets with each entry. The Camaro people took up a lot of room. :)

DjD and camaroman7d both won awards. Way to go!

Dennis, I presume that's your interior at the end of these. What kind of armrest/console do you have? Looks comfortable.

A survivor without a DZ engine. Still interesting looking under the hood for other details.

All the usual shops, NPD, YearOne, CI sell them. This one fits over the factory console and they make them for bench seats and no console too.
