I recently just completed a head change..Trick flow heads, TF roller rockers and TF Hardened pushrods..Problem or should I say question is..

I have adjusted the drivers side rockers 3 times already (Zero+ 1/4 turn Hydraulic cam Lunati 246@50 and 515 lift)...And even though I can't here anything while standing next to the engine while running..I do here a very faint click coming from the drivers side valve cover using my stesescope(SP????)..Could it have something to do with the headers being cut down and rewelded with a close bend(Clearance issues) on the driverside..There are NO header leaks on the drivers side....(I do have a collector leak on the passenger side)).....Thanks again

Zero lash + 1/4 turn is on the loose side IMO especially if it is a new cam and you have new rocker arms. The rocker bearings will loosen a little with breakin and so will the cam and lifters. I always set them to zero lash plus 1/2 turn. Maybe you have one that is a touch on the loose side.

Keep in mind that roller rockers are a little noisey when working properly - I'm assuming that since you only hear it on one side that you MIGHT have one that a little loose. Probably nothing to worry about at all.

I have trick flow heads with roller rockers, every time I get on it hard, the valve train is a little noisy. I have adjusted the valves 3 times, and i still here the ticking noise sometimes. I think that it is just normal.

I went through this with my 57b a while back. What I finally figured out the valve covers were just barely touching the lifters. Look inside the covers and see if you have any marks.

I'd keep them right at zero plus a quarter turn through the breakin period. Get some miles on the motor and then play with them. My hydraulic rollers are a little noisy also.it isn't worth worrying about.

I too have Trick Flow heads and roller rockers. From what everyone says, they are just noisy. It took me a while to accept that, but I finally did. If you are sure that the valves are adjusted right, then I would leave it alone and not worry about it.

It just stands to reason that they will be noisy. Being aluminum and the thermal expansion that comes with the material If the rocker expand even slighty It would change the lash significantly.not to mention the areas that the rollers occupy they expand as well the steel does not expand as much and voila. Increased clearance=some noise.

If you need a stethoscope to hear them, I think you're fine. When I do that, I hear all kinds of interesting sounds.

I had this problem when I installed aluminum roller rockers on my Trick Flows years ago. The problem was like korvettekarl said, the rockers were just barely tapping the inside of the valve cover. I took them off and used a bench grinder on to remove a little material and the noise stopped.
