I've just replaced a lift cylinder and added fluid to the top motor unit. I'm not sure how many onces it can take?? And what should be the easy part is making me crazy! Can someone tell me a quick step by step process to bleed the lines of all the air!?
Can you only un-do one fitting and do this??

I replaced a lift cylinder in my conv. a while back. The bleeding of the lines is supposed to be done by running the motor (raising and lowering the top) and adding fluid as needed. **The plug must be off of the motor**
This forces the air out thru the opening for the motor plug, not the fittings at the cylinder. Hope this helps, its been a while since i did it....

Rikster, the instructions in the box with my convt top hydraulic lines warn NOT to overfill the pump. I believe it says to fill the pump about 3/4 full. Then lift and lower the top until the air is gone (I have younger kids and they love to help with this part!) Fill as needed. The motor will have distinctly different sounds when air is present and when you have all the air bled out.

they're all correct here! take the plug off, fill it to the top, and run it up and down. refill and continue as required. You can hear when it's right. Put some shop towels down, it's messy!
