Not trying to cause any trouble or anything but I thought I should inform all the SS owners that there is an 'UP' side on SS emblems.

To tell if you emblems are installed correctly, the fatter curve should be on bottom. If it isn't, the S looks like it wants to fall forward. If you are in doubt, tilt your head left or right.

I just seem lately that there is an epidemic going around. I went to a car show this weekend and noticed 6 Chevelle or Camaros with their grille emblems wrong. Even Big Buck Magazine cover cars are not excempt from overlooking the small details. There have been three cars in the last two months that have been in magazines with upside-down SS.

So please, if you own a Super Sport, check the emblems. It could make a differnece between a first or third place award. Once you notice a emblem upside-down, the others start jumping out at you.

Now how to tell somebody in person without offending them or sounding like a smarta$$

Thanks

Should this have gone under Body Shop?? http://www.camaros.net/forum/confused.gif http://www.camaros.net/forum/redface.gif

the ss in the pics of my car's grill are upside down. (pics are old and i have since corrected the problem). a fellow member pointed it out and when i checked, it was. you can tell because the ss is mounted a little too high on the grill when placed upside down. the emblem should have should be in the exact middle of the grill and the "ledge" of the emblem on top with the cut spot for the grill to fit into below it.

Mike, Thanks for shedding some more light on the subject. I know the 70 Chevelle emblems are notched in back to fit flush with the piece between the grille. If they are wrong there is also a gap on the backside.
