when i bought my 67 camaro it would stale when you came to a stop. i was told it was a loos wire to the distributor.. the engine is a circa 70's 350 with a hei from god knows what..it only stales when you are going forward and press the brakes, the quicker you stop the quicker it shuts down.. but you can go 50 mph in reverse and jab the breaks...and nothing happens the car stops fine..any help or sugestions might would be appreciated. my mechanic said the carbs shot but i think he is trying to get a rebuilt out of me ...

The only thing that comes to mind is if you are using a Holley, the fuel level could be so low that when you brake, you uncover the jets and run out of fuel. That's the first thing I would check.

i have the same problem with my 67 camaro.I also have a holley. i wrote to edelbrok and they told me to check my fuel pressure. or its possible that the floats in the carb need to be adjusted. i havent tried any of these yet but they might be of some help to you. if you have any success with these let me know.
