Need some helpful advice here... I have a 97 camaro, 3800 series v6, that is hard to start whenever hot or cold. After startup, which requires some cranking, car seems as it is not running smoothly ( possibly missing a little, or loading up?) After a few seconds, car smooths out and runs fine. No check engine light comes on. All spark plugs were recently changed 3000 miles ago. Was told it could be a fuel pressure regulating valve ( At a price to put in of $237, $109 part cost at auto store), is this possible?

Sounds like the Fuel Regulator Valve, have the same problem in my 2000 Tahoe, just haven't gotten around to replacing the part ($80 at the dealer, I do the install). What happens is it starts leaking gas into the intake, thus your engine is super rich and has a hard time turning over (flooded basically).
Try this out, press the gas pedal next time to the FLOOR and then try to start, this will open up and let more air into the engine at start, if it seems to start a little sooner that way then you KNOW its the fuel regulator.
You might consider changing it out yourself, good experience.

I had the same problem on my 2000 silverado. I was told to pull the vacuum line off after it had been sitting overnight and see if there was any fuel in the vacuum line. Mine had a few drops. You might consider an aftermarket regulator, but I don't know if they are more reasonably priced. The one on my truck would have taken about 20 min to replace.
