I have a 350 4bolt 12 to 1 compression, cam with 615 lift, 205 heads, forged pistons, steel crank, solid lifters, RPM performer intake and Holly 750 single pump. If this is correct should the horsepower be around 500?
This car sat for a couple years. I have got it running but the carb steams like white smoke for about 3-5 minutes after shutting the car off. The carb is New. Is this ok?

My guess is that the steam is just fuel vapor. Not really big deal but I would check to see if the floats are adjusted correctly.

your not the only one who's carb does this. mine does this and i haven't had any problems.
and i'd have to say that's a pretty good guess on the horsepower. if you could give more spec's on the cam, this would be a big help (duration, dur @.050, overlap, centerline).i use a program that can give you a general idea on this and your track times.

The smoke you see is combustion gasses rising up into intake after shutdown. It's normal if engine is running a little fat. However these gases are flamable if the veh. backfires thru intake could be a problem
