How do i hook up HEI distributor i put a ten gauge wire to the fuse block it worked for a while but stoped whats wrong????

If you still got 12 volts goin to the distributor, then the problem is inside the distributor. Probably the module

Check your connection, or fuse.

Stopped while running or wouldn't start a second time? Your electrical source might be wrong where it's on a ignition on source that cuts out while cranking but you got lucky starting since the engine might of still been turning when letting off the key and the power returned to the distributor. Check voltage when cranking.

make sure you don't have the positive to the negative and the negative to the positive.
the car will only run while cranking and then stop once cranking stops;

Oh yah. There's a death to HEI's if some of the wires like the tach are hooked on wrong. Hope not.
Try reading help and trouble shooting on manufacturers pages like MSD or Mr Gasket.
