Hi I bought a new holley 750dp,mech secondary,mech choke 4779-3 carb.When I open
the throttle it sticks at half way,I really
have to tap it for it to come back.checked the gasket it was fine, checked the butterflies they seemed ok.hooked up the return spring seemed to work sometimes when
I open and close the throttle quick.well I
took the car out for the first time ( 69 SS-396),when I got it up to half throttle it
stuck, anyone ever have that happen knows
what I mean. any sugestions to what it might be?I think maybe it was dropped before
it was boxed.Intake is a Edelbrock Air Gap

Try taking the throttle linkage off and moving the carb arm by hand to see if it sticks that way. If it works fine that way the problem is the linkage binding. If it sticks it's a problem with the carb. Take it off and see if it sticks. If it does send it back. If it turns out to be the linkage try turning the end that connects to the carb. I'm not sure but I think I have mine on with the pin facing away from the carb. I accidently switched it one time and the throttle stuck whenever I put a good load on the engine.
