Hello all. I have a 1995 Camaro Z28 and i am having some major problems. I took my car to have an engine scan done on it because it was becoming hard to start. They told me that the code was #16. No start fault. They told me that my distributor was going bad and i needed to change it. Well, i changed it and I am still having the same problem. I turn the key and it takes a minute before it starts. I replaced the distributor and coil. When it does finally start I get a very strong gas odor. What does it mean? Can anyone help me out here. I also need to know where I can find wiring digrams wirhout buying the service manuals. I dont have that kind of money. If there is someone out there please help. Thanx.

rb, in regards to the manuals, haynes cost around $12 - $14 . However, if money is tight, try your public library ... I know that the libraries here in Raleigh carry a large assortment of manuals, domestic and import and we can make photo-copies for like 5 or 10 cents a page ... in regard to the hard start problem, does it happen when the car is cold, hot, or does it happen all of the time ... Also, how does the car run once it starts ?

Begin with the starter. How old is it? How are the connections and wires? Test the ignition coil, and check spark plugs. Does the starter get real hot after a drive?

I've found GM starters last only 2 to 5 years.
