Noticed the vacum lines on my headlights are cracked and old. The headlight doors will not open or close without help and I noticed a hissing noise at the cracks in the lines. First can I just buy vacum line from my local parts dealer or do I need to order the complete kit from a camaro source?? How much vacum does it take to open and close the doors?? Any suggestions will be appreciated? Would it be best to just replace all the vacum lines invilved?

If you have Power Point for your computer I can give you a diagragm I made showing exactly how to run the hoses so they work.

Todd, if you replace one side at a time and get the correct size hose you can go to the parts store and buy plain black hose. You may get confused as to which hose is which as opposed to the color coded hose from the kit. Put some tape on the hoses to distinguish which are which and you can pull it off later. Once the reservoir builds vacuum it doesn't take a lot to operate but it does bleed off alternately as you open and close them through the vacuum switch under the hood. Also make sure you have a check valve between the reservoir and the main vacuum source so the vacuum will stay in the tank.

Thanks for the help!! I don't have power point but would some how like to have the diagram you are talking about. I have thought of the act that if i just take all the hoses off i may not be able to get them back correctly. is there some other way you can send me the diagram??
