Finally fired off my big block 69 today. All went well until i tried to turn the wheel. No power steering! Tried raising the car on jacks and turning lock to lock to burp air and still nothing. all of the components are or look to be new. Any ideas on the cause or a cure?

Need some more history, what do you mean, "looks" to be new? Has the power steering ever worked in this car? Is this the first time the car was ever started with new P/S components? Are there any kinks in the hoses? If everything is as it should be, and you have nothing going on at all, I'd say your pump is probably bad, but it could be the gearbox also. Is it making any noises at all? On a big block car, assuming you have the correct P/S reservoir, it's pretty easy to get another pump and replace it. I got one from O'Reillys and transferred it into the old reservoir, cost about 50 bucks.

Make sure your fluid is up to the line and then run the car. after the car is at normal operating temp. crack the 2 lines at the power steering BOX. turn the wheel from lock to lock. center it and lock down the lines. This will get out all the air in the lines. Shut the car off and then add more fluid. Clean the area up and run the car again. Turn the wheels and see what happens. If that doesn't work get a new pump, look at the lines. Check to see if they are Hard NOT soft. Replace if nessecery.

KZ, This is the first time running since I got the car. It was somebody elses project to start. All the lines are new. No strange noises. Belts are new and aligned. Took alot of fluid to fill it. The gearbox must have been dry. It needed more fluid today after sitting over night. I hoped it was airlocked. Topped it off but still no good.
