Well, I just recieved my orginal 68 horns. The low sounds decent, but the high sometimes won't sound.... sometimes it sounds but very weak... and every blue moon it'll try to sound good. It's not the contacts (even though the seller painted them like new... cover even the terminals) I cleaned the contact points for the horn. I even ran striaght from the battery to the horn and the same problem.

Is there any suggestions?? They both had a bit of sand in them... any easy way to remove it? I turned and turn to get most of it out...

There should be an adjuster on those OEM horns you could try. You might be able to tweak it enough to improve the sound. Good luck!

Well... the adjustment screws didn't help, however I fixed it. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif When all else fails, use the BFH! A few taps and voila just like new. Finally I have horns, now I can put my middle finger to rest (just kidding).

Anyhow... I also noticed a few post about how the horns go in the middle hood divider (Underneath the hood latch). Well my harness is too short and I looked in my assembly manual and it shows that it mounts either in the middle or in the driver side. I would prefer it in the middle, any ideas on which is more common?

Thanks for the help!
