So I just hit the site in the browser on my iPhone, and was notified via popup about an app that could be used to view the site instead. I paid for and downloaded the app, Tapatalk, only find that the forum isn't listed there. Further research here shows that AutoGuide is the app that I should have bought. Is there a reason why users are directed to the wrong app when hitting the site via mobile app, or am I missing something? Thanks!

Don't know, it never happened to me. I was never redirected to the app store from this site on my iPhone. I downloaded AutoGuide without any reference other then its the logo at the bottom of all the pages here.

Just to double-check, I cleared my cookies in Safari on the phone, hit http://www.camaros.net/, and got the following:

Unfortunately, not from what I can tell.

The autoforums folks don't keep the moderators updated on changes very well so I have nothing official on this. I did look into Tapatalk and it apears to be legitimate. Site owners register with tapatalk for free and users buy their app. Once you have a tapatalk account on your phone you have access to all the tapatalk registered forums on the net including facebook. This is different than the Autoguide app that lists all their forums, you have to use the app and search.

I'll ask for more info on it but don't expect to hear from anyone till at least Tuesday. The AF folks are a M-F 8-5 type!

Does Tapatalk allow you to access the Hot Rodders or HAMB forums? Just curious because Autoguide does not.

I just found the H.A.M.B. on Tapatalk. You must search using the periods between letters.
Tapatalk wont work here; PT.com, Lateral G. The Autoforums app is obviously a name branded version of Tapatalk but is Autoforums only. Now PT.com has their own app.
It seems we are taking a step backwards having a specific app for every forum. It would be better to have a mobile version of a forum viewable in a regular browser. Multiple forum apps are not progress in my opinion. I feel we are being restricted & controlled.

Tapatalk works with other software the site uses to increase revenue. The AutoGuide app only works on autoguide (autoforum sites) Tapatalk will work with any forum site willing to install it and it's free to the site owner. That seems like a bonus feature to someone like David who visits sites owned by many different factions. It's just a matter of site owners opting in!

Dennis - Thanks for the update. I look forward to seeing what they say. I only frequent this site and nastyz28.com, and neither are listed in the directory within Tapatalk. It's unfortunate you have to buy the app *before* you can see what forums are listed.

What pisses me off though, is having bought it only to find camaros.net isn't listed. Not that $2.99 is a big deal, but I don't feel like shelling out another $2.99 to get what was supposedly supported in the first place.

I use Tapatalk for a few other forums I'm on, I will say it's OK but far from great. As Dennis said a mobile web version of the site would be great, it's usually http:///m.(then the rest of the normal URL) and it shrinks the fully functional site into a mobile version of itself. Much better in my view

At our age the flashlight ap comes in handy for those late night visits to the restroom. You just have to make sure you don't drop the phone at the wrong time! :D

maybe i'm not understanding completely the topic, or why it is that some posters can't connect to TC on their phone. I have iphone4 and all i ever did was sync the phone to my computer, so all my favorites just downloaded to my phone. i usually just go to favorites and touch the TC shortcut and the normal webpage comes up on the safari browser just as it does on the computer.

No luck here, either.

V.J. - The issue isn't that we can't load TC from an iPhone, it's that when browsing the site via mobile phone (such as an iPhone) you're prompted that the site is available via a third-party app called 'tapatalk'. Once loaded, you can't find the site. Not a big deal if the app were free, but it's not.

I don't mind loading the site from Safari on the phone, but it can be a PITA to use quickly.
