I got a 92 rs with the 305 and t5 trans. The tpi intake is gone as well as most of the fuel injection parts. I'm just looking to get the car running again not looking for 10094 hp. With the stock heads what intake will work to put a carb on this car. I also have a set of vortec 350 heads I could throw on if it would open up my intake options. Really looking for the cheapest options. Any help would be great.

Is there a certain model I need to be looking at or will any for the sbc fit it. I've heard you have to get a different intake with vortec heads but i dont know if you do with the stock 305 heads. I've already picked up the edelbrock 1406 now I just need to find out which performer will fit like model number. Thanks again

JMT's as I have not done this either, but, you would have to look at Edelbrock's catalog for the correct manifold.
You would also have to install a simular brand fuel pump, ie, Holley #801 (no regulator) or a #802 (with reg), and use the return line as TPI fuel pressure is 40-50 PSI from the in-tank fuel pump, also unplug the pump use the available power for the added f/pump. Or, use a bypass regulator and set the fuel pressure for 5-6 PSI and return the rest of the fuel not needed using the existing pump.
You would also have to install non-ECM controlled distributor, ie, HEI or simular design and provide ign power for it.
Throttle linkage also, shorter cable?
PVC system, vacuum for brakes, hardware, etc.
Might be close to 994 HP..........

If I have a running 350 with tpi still intact would it be easier to pull the 305 and drop the 350 in. Remember I'm not looking for performance and obviously know the 350 will be the best choice performance wise. I'm looking at the easiest way to get this car on the road. I need a daily driver really bad. The price of diesel and the drive I have everyday aren't working for me.

I did this swap two years ago. Here's a list of the things I used:
-Intake Manifold for Carb make sure you get one for 87-95 heads if you are keeping the stock 305 heads, or you will have to drill out the center four holes on each side to the correct angle.
-Non ecm controlled Distributor
-Fuel Pressure Regulator w/ return(Mallory 4309 is what I used, works great)
-Carb of your choice.
-Throttle linkage bracket get an adjustable one so you can retain the stock cable.

is it possible to swap out fuel pumps to a lower psi pump to avoid using the fpr? also I have a set of double hump heads and i'm thinking about throwing them on while I have everything apart, mainly to have more options for the intake, can i just change the gaskets and bolt them on without changing anything internally in the engine

I did a carb swap on my 84 Yvette and used the 4309 regulator, zz4 intake, accel. Dist and a 600 eddy carb. You will need a Tv cable adapter for the carb if you have a 700r4 trans so that your trans will shift correctly. Probably will need a cable bracket to mount your Tv cable and throttle cable to the rear two driver side intake bolts. You should be able to find a performer intake for $60 or so and a junkyard hei dist. for $25. Good luck.
