haveing trouble car backfires when i accelerate and the exhaust smell really rich i can smoke up my garage when i do it could i have a plug wire on wrong is the timeing wrong or is there a way to adjust the carb its a 780 holly had ir over hauled but it still does it stumped ? help

I would make sure you got TDC and the distributor lined up right, first off. Then look to the carb.
