I was wondering if anybody has had any heat related problems with the steering gear box being close to the headers. I wrapped the box with heat shielding because I'm paranoid but it looks soooo ugly.

I have Hooker super comps on small block in my 67'rs and I can swear the headers almost touch the gear box. I have had no heat related p/s problems. If your gear is getting too hot rather than ugly sheild you might try a small cooler(easy to hide)
