I have an 81 Camaro. I have to put new brass bushings in the door hinges. The pins in my doors go in from the bottom and look to be crimped at the top? Now I have phoned the dealer and he states that the should be tapped out with a hammer from the bottom up. but i told him mine are in from the bottom. He looked it up on the puter and said never heard of it. Anyway do these have to be cut?and new pins bought? Anyone come across this?

I rebushed My 80 Z two times in the 100+ thousand miles that I owned it ( I miss that car)
The original hinge pins are "crimped"...You will have to grind off the crimp...OR...cut the pin in the center and push the pin halves out from the center...
It is very difficult to do in the car due to space limitations.....
Your best bet is to remove one hinge at a time and rebuild them on the bench....
Those doors are very heavy....I used a nylon sling and an engine hoist to hold the door in place, that way You don't have to deal with the wiring... worked pretty good....
When You install the new pins, just install both of them from the top....
Usually the bushings are sold in kit form with the pins....
