I hope someone can enlighten me...
I have a Holley 4150 600CFM carb (1971 vintage) the needle & seat assemblys will not come out of the fuel bowls. It's almost as if they were pressed into the bowls. Also, the needles & seats that came with the rebuild kit are nothing like the ones installed currently in the fuel bowls. The current setup has the adjusting nut, but the lock screw is one solid machined piece of brass. It has a straight slot cut in the top but does not "overhang" the outter diameter of the nut. I have tried pulling the seat out and wrenched on it a bit, I think I may be damaging the fuel bowl at this point :( , it's almost like there is (was) a shoulder in the upper part of the fuel bowl for the top of the seat to ride against. Has anybody ever seen one of these set ups? How do you change the needle & seat assembly? or am I just wasting my time trying to get it out?
Thanks to everybody that makes this a great website, it is an awsome resource!
