I have a 1980 wanna be Camaro (229 V6) that one of my daughters drives. Wipers went intermittent a while back. Could get them to go some of the time if the switch was pushed to wash often enough. Now they are totally inop and RainX just ain't cutting it anymore. Put a new motor in today. Now the things won't park. If power is available, they run, regardless of switch position. I suspect that it is the "new" motor, but would like to know for sure so I don't have to take any lip from the guy behind the counter at Discount Auto Parts. Don't want him to think that I am shotgunning parts to try to fix the problem. My Chilton's manual does not have any wiring diagrams in it. They say none are included in the text because there were so many variations in second generation wiring. What a lame excuse! Anyway, does anyone have a suggestion, or better yet, a schematic that they could e-mail me. I've been an avionics tech most of my life, so if I can get a diagram, I can finger it out.

i would try a switch if it dont work return it then find the next step

make sure the ground on the side of the wiper motor is making good contact.

I am assuming by the 229 that this is a base car and does NOT have delay wipers.
Do You have high and low speeds with the switch ?
If both speeds are OK probable cause is the park switch , whis is located inside the wiper motor. Road Trip back to the auto parts.
The dash switch simply grounds the motor to operate in which ever speed selected.
When OFF is selected the motor runs until a plastic cam opens the park switch.(inside the motor)causing the motor to quit by disrupting the ground circut...

Put in another new motor and all is well. Thanks.
