I have a 67 convertible, 4 speed, with a medium blue interior. When the prior owner did the restoration, he painted the whole console to match the interior color. Most picutres I have seen show the top of the console black. Does anyone know if from the factory, the consoles were always black? Thanks

They were always interior color and the whole thing is one solid color.

Only time it would be all one color is if you have a black interior, otherwise top is black and sides match the interior color.

Parchment console sides and top are black also.

Thanks guys - Looks like I will be repainting the top black. I think it will look better anyway - breaks up all that bright blue.
