I have 1986 Z-28 and have recently changed the fuel pump in the tank. Upon completion
I had no power to the pump so I ran a 12 volt
switched source from the accesory panel to
the pump and it worked but the engine would not run. I have since removed the TPI completely, installed a performer intake a
holley carburetor and a brand new distributor.(no more computer)It runs fine, but when I turn the key off to shut the engine down it takes a few seconds for the ignition system to shut down and actually kill the engine. Has anyone experienced this type of problem?

For some reason the electric fan was backfeeding to the ignition somehow. I relocated the power source to the accessory
panel and the engine shuts down as soon as I
turn the key off.

When you kill the ignition, the fan is still spinning. It then acts like a mini generator for a bit, feeding enough power back to keep the motor running. Been there done that!
