i was driving my sister's 89 pickup the other day, when it overheated on me and stalled. After i waited for it to cool down i fired it back up, now it knocks bad from the front of the engine, i thought maybe it was the water pump, so i took off the belt and fired it up, still knocking, do u think this is a spun bearing, this sucks

Doesn't sound good. Is it a metallic sound? How's your oil pressure? Try disconnecting the spark plugs one by one. This will tell you if it is a rod or main bearing. Is there water in the oil?

there was water in the oil before, because i put a new intake on, and it didnt seal good, so i fixed the intake and kept draining the oil until clean, and filled up with fresh oil

sounds like you should drop the oil pan and look for a piston skirt to be laying in it. Is this a chevy pickup? how hot did it get? and what caused it to overheat?
