New to the board and have a Few questions..I am looking at purchasing a 68 Camaro..It has been completely restored so I am told 2 yrs ago...The car looks straight and clean..But I have some questions..The car an original V-8 Auto has been converted to a 4 sp...Seems like it runs OK..Should I expect any problems with this conversion..Is it a pretty easy conversion....Also I can see the car sits lower on the right side when viewed from the rear...It does have the monoleaf spring and am wondering if a sagging spring on one side would cause this..Also what would it cost me to repair...And last question(for now http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif)Is there some place I should look at Hard What I mean is there a particular place or problem I should be aware of on these cars...Thanks in advance

The 4 speed if done right is a bolt in, shouldnt be a problem. When trying it out,run it up to around 5000 rpms or so before shifting,If it dont grind the trans should be ok.Leaning look from the rear,is most likely springs, could even be r/front.Things to look for.Rust or covered up,rust anywhere.Typical places to look is around windows,Rear quarters, especally at wheel wells.Any major body damage repairs. If you know a good body man or mechanic, have them both look at it.Sometimes when im looking at something to buy and i get excited about it I tend to overlook problems with it.Live and learn I guess.
