If someone has found a good radiator, please reply. gheatly Feb 21st, 00, 12:30 PM All of these radiators are coming from the same manufacturer, regardless of who sells them. Any of the big, well-known Camaro suppliers will sell good quality radiators. I got mine from D&R Classic in Illinois. CJ Feb 21st, 00, 02:37 PM If you're looking to spend the money on 4 row, you should look into an aluminum one. I had a nice drop in operating temp even with the Vintage Air going and no auxilary fan. The car runs at about 180-195. Lon68Cam Feb 21st, 00, 05:52 PM Thanks, CJ and gheatly for info on radiators. Ricks has the best price on places I've checked out. pink68 Feb 21st, 00, 05:58 PM Lon68 - go with the Ricks. I bought mine for $189 and also the shroud. The 402 at the time was heating up pretty bad. Once I replaced the radiator/shroud combo and a 160 thermostat the combo will now run 165 or less all day long. The hottest it has ever been was 185 after sitting for 45 min in traffic. Once I began to move the temp dropped 20 degrees in minutes. Have fun!!! johnnyr May 23rd, 00, 11:21 AM I have got a 4 core in my 67 camaro from Ricks. I am very satified with it. ------------------ johnny CarlC May 23rd, 00, 01:45 PM gheatly is right. They are made by US Radiator in Los Angeles. Last time I was there they had two pallets filled with D&R parts. ------------------ Click here to see see my car and hear 5-speeds. http://www.geocities.com/casanoc JayBird Jun 7th, 00, 04:40 AM How is the easiest way to see if you have a 3 core or 4 core. Im sure you can measure them, but is there a way by just looking at it? Nor Cal Mike Jun 7th, 00, 10:07 PM 4 cores are 3" thick ------------------ Nor Cal Mike mburke Jun 8th, 00, 09:46 AM What would be a good price on the aluminum radiator and where???? $189.00 for the 4 core is within the budget.... but what about the aluminum??? Is it really that great of an idea to run an electric fan??? I already have a perma flex HD flex fan (Stainless) that seems to work great. Nor Cal Mike Jun 8th, 00, 10:33 AM I just bought a 19"X31" aluminum, cross flow, 2 core(1"long tubes equivalent to 4 core) from Speedway. It has hand-formed heliarc welded tanks, real custom. It was $200 plus $30 shipping. I'm sure that you can find a press-formed tank radiater for less. 68SS396 Jun 8th, 00, 10:53 AM Nor Cal, thats a good deal. Does it come with the brackets to mount it to the radiator support? I see them now and then but most don't seem to come with the brackets to mount it as most cars they sit on the support rather than bolt to it. Just curious but it is a good price |
