i pulled the plugs again on my 383 with only 100miles on it. i drive it nice all the time and it still has oil on it. the shop that built the motor did a compression test and it showed up good. do i need to give it time for the rings to settle. they are chromoly rings and i heard they have a little blow by for the brake in period. any advise

I had the same problem on a new engine, but it was due to having the engine too lean on initial start up which cooked some valve seals due to heat. i just replaced the seals on a engine that only has 124 miles so i will see later this week if it fixed the problem.
If you are running to rich it is possible that to much gas is washing the hole check the oil for gas.

How does it seem to run otherwise? Does it idle ok?

If your running too thin oil then go to a thicker oil.

How much oil are you burning? 1 quart or so every 3000 isn't too bad, even for a recent re-build. I've even heard some people say that a little bit of oil on the plugs means you are getting excellent lubrication, which isn't a bad thing. My opinion is to change it at 1000 (it's recommended that you change it early on a new build), then let it go for another 2000, and see how much you are burning.

Chances are if you have oil on plugs it is getting past the rings, this happens sometimes with fresh rebuilds until rings seat but if you did not bore the cylinders during rebuild and installed new pistons chances are you just wasted your money

it was bored 30 over so i hope it is just valve seals or it being a new motor.
thanks
