I recently installed headers on my '68 Camaro 327 and I have tried several brackets that say that they are for this sort of thing but they have not fit on my headers because some of the pipes of the headers are in the way. I have Headman headers. I need an idea of where to go to find the right brackets. PLEASE HELP!!!

where are you trying to mount your alternator? do you have power steering? usually mounting the alternator is not the problem. I'm not quite sure ho your headers would come forward enough to hit your alternator. let me know what your trying to do so we can help you fix this one.

I used a March alternator bracket on the passenger side. Everything lined up perfectly and only two trips to get the correct length belt. If you mount on the drivers side it can be a pain to check you PS fluid. http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1536360&a=11711223&p=41827547&Sequence=2&res=high (http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1536360&a=11711223&p=41827547&Sequence=2&res=high)
Hope this helps. You can get it from summit for about $85 and it doesn't mount to your exhaust.

The brackets you need are available from Mr gasket, and are probably the ones you hae already. the 68 mounts the alternator on the driver's side and people with 69's are not aware of these problems. if your header tubes are too big to clear the bracket, try grinding the bracket.. welcome to the world of aftermarket..
