Just purchased '67 base camaro w/new 350. When I start it, it makes a grinding sound like it is already running. After that it runs fine. Starts everytime though. Any ideas?

I had the same prob. I put shims on my starter and no more grindage.

I agree. It sounds like you need to shim the starter. Starter shims are readily available from any auto parts store. They go between the starter and the block to give you more clearance between the flywheel teeth and the starter gear. You just try different shims, starting with the thinest one first, until it sound good.
