I have a cowl hood on my 67 rs ss. I realize it is not the original hood that came on the car. (I think it is a 68 hood.)Is there a way to tell if it is a General Motors hood or if it is an after market hood?

super scoop hoods (as chevy called them, no "cowl hoods" till the chevelle came out with one in '70) were only available on '69 cars after dec. '68. this option was not as popular as you would think today if you looked at the number of cars that have one. so if you have a gm it's off a '69. sorry., i'm not sure how to tell gm from aftermarket, but maybe someelse will help.

dale, is there any part numbers that you can find ? i've always had original hoods and never used a aftermarket hood, so the only thing i can think of is looking for a part number somewhere.
