I have a 1987 MPI v6 2.8. I know there are codes in the computer. When i jump it the flashs show as follows.

1. flash pause flash flash (code 12 i assume)
2. Flash pause flash flash flash (What code is this)?
3. Then there is a code the flashes 3 times with no pauses
4. There is one that flashes only twice with no pause
5. Then the last one flashes three times pause then four times then pause then three times keeps alternating. Then goes back to code 12 again

If anyone can figure out the codes from this or any help would be great thanx!

that is the normal code you get first. i belive it mean's no signal from the dist. as the motor is not running. if that is all you get..you have no active code's and are good to go.

no no code 12 i get first then the other flashes show which is the other codes but i dont know how to turn the flashes into the numbered codes. Cause right now the car boggs down when you get on the gas and is going through gas like crazy

1. 12 is first signal for self test. (normal)

2. 13 is oxegen sensor circuit Check oxegen sensor ciruit or replace sensor.

3. 34 is MAP manifolds absolute pressure
check for vacuum hoses to map sensor or replace MAP sensor

Other codes are not listed on index.
Resset computer by leaving negative lead off overnight and reinstall the next day. Get codes to re-display. And see if the false codes clear.
