I test drove a 69 Z-28 today and the speedo had a very annoying gear noise.I was a high pitched squacking noise. The owner of the car said it ws because the car had been sitting for awhile and the cable to speedo connection needed to be lubed. I thought it was the sound of two plastic gears not meshing properly or maybe a dry cable? Any imput would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Just to make sure, remove the speedo cable from the trans and drive it again, but yeah, it sounds like a dry cable
