hello fellas,

this is my first post, so i hope you don't mind my ignorance. i recently added some "trans-aid" to my tranny fluid, to seal any leaks and remove gunk. a couple of miles after doing so, the car stalled out on me. the car will idle fine after restarting, but once i put it in gear, i putters out. could this problem be coming from the stuff i put in the tranny? its probably something completely unrelated, right?

How much did you add and was the tranny warm when you added it? That stuff is a thickner, meaning that it makes seals and soft parts swell while at the same time making the fliud thicker. Could be that you added to much and/or the tranny oil is to thick causing the engine to load up and stall.

i added a whole bottle as directed, and i did it while it was warm. maybe i overfilled it...

could this be affecting my carb operation at all?

I'd bet it is something unrelated. Hard to say where to start though. Maybe a vacuum leak? Or a clogged fuel filter? A general tune up probably wouldn't hurt if it has been a while.

Just a couple ideas.
