I've got an original tach in my 67 and previous to resto, everything worked great. I did a search on this site and read about the GM HEI and that it has a filter? that may cause this. Is this possible and where is the filter.

When my 67 was brand new, the tach would only go to 3000, the mechanic fixed it by removing the cover and bending the needle down a bit, it was hitting the plastic cover.
