OK back again with 305 stoker question. I found the kit and now waiting on the catalog to come to the house.need some ideas,305 went to the machine shop last week told them toget it ready for the stroker. called today and they havent started on it yet. This is going to be a slow process because of $$$$$$$. Need to know wkat type of heads are good for this motor. He recomends 350 vortec heads but not sure if they will fit. He has a set hes working on now and he said when hes done he will put them on to see if they will work. Need some info and what type of cam and intake to put on it. going to put in a 66 chevy truck maybe my camaro dont know yet. For play and strip sometimes.

The vortecs will work beautifully on your engine. As far as cam recommendations go, we need a lot more info (compression, intake, gears, trans, exhaust, etc) to make ameaningful recommendation

Use a fairly conservative dual pattern cam like the comp cams XE262, 1 5/8" headers, dual 2 1/4" exhaust with good mufflers, a performer vortec pattern intake, a tweaked q-jet or 600 edelbrock carb (vaccuum secondarys) and you will have a very strong, torquey daily driver. One of the mags did a buildup a few years back on a 334 like yours...it had 64cc iron heads (non vortec), performer intake, 600 holley, headers, and a comp cams high energy 268 cam...it made massive off idle torque but ran out of steam around 4800-5000 rpms. Build for torque...you will never get lots of top end power out of this combo because of the excessive shrouding from the small bore. I think the mag buildup made 360 pounds of torque at only 2500 rpm and about 320 hp. I'll see if I can find the article and post more specifics.
