i have a 1969 camaro and i am very new to all this stuff,i am used to working on newer cars. my problem is i am taking off the rear springs and the bolts that hold the spring mount in the front are just spinning and not losening. i have the drivers side off but the passenger side is being the problem. do i need to grind them off or is there another way. how often am i going to have this problem on this old car? i am going for the pro touring kind of mods. so the entire suspension is going to be modified. help on what to expect next would be helpful

Those bolts screw into "cage" nuts...or clip's with nuts tack welded on.

It is a common problem with disassembly...the torque overwelms the welds and they break...then its just spin city.

Most people have had luck cutting the bolt heads off with a dremel cut off wheel.

I recently went through the same problem with all 6 bolts. I found it easiest to drill the bolt heads off, worked better than a sawsall. The only problem was getting the old nuts out after I cut off the heads - you don't want them rattling around in there when you're all done. With needle nose pliers and a lot of patience you can pull them through one of the other access holes.

If you intend to keep the car for long, use anti-seize in almost every nut and bolt that you work on, in case those parts have to come out in a few years down the road.
