305 H ENGINE CODE, MANUAL TRANSMITION
I REBUILT MY ENGINE AND I AM HAVING TROUBLE STARTING IT. I DONT KNOW IF I HOOKED THE STARTER WIRES UP RIGHT. I HAVE TWO BIG WIRES, ONE RUNNING FROM THE BATTERY AND THE OTHER ONE FROM THE WIREING HARNESS. THERE IS ALSO A SMALL WIRE.
THE SMALL WIRE IS CURENTLY HOOKED TO THE SMALL BOLT MARKED WITH AN S. I DONT KNOW IF THIS WIRE SHOULD BE HOOKED TO THE S OR THE R BOLT ON THE SELONOID. WHEN IT IS ATTACHED TO THE R THE STARTER DOSNT CRANK. WHEN IT IS ATTACHED TO THE S SIDE OF THE SELONOID IT CRANKS THE ENGINE BUT WHEN I TURN THE KEY OFF IT DOSN'T STOP CRANKING. WHICH BOLT DOES THIS SMALL WIRE CONECT TO THE R OR THE S, AND AM I MISSING ANY WIRES? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS AS TO WHAT MY PROBLEM MAY BE? PS. I HAVE AN MSD IGNITION HOOKED UP, COULD THIS ALSO BE A FACTOR?
