hi everyone, i have a 89 camaro, 2.8 v6 engine, auto trans. it starts fine when cold, but when its hot it wont start.no click from the solenoid,no sound from the starter. i put in a new starter, new solenoid, new battery (correct cca) new battery cables, and a new alternator. no problems with check engine light and the codes scanner says everything is ok. all other electrical components work fine even when the car doesnt start. the car can be jumped when hot and it starts fine. anyone have any ideas? thanks

My brothers 88'V6 had the same problem, it turned out that he didn't put the locknut back on the starter where the battery cable meets, or maybe yours isn't tightened down all the way. Try moving the battery cable around as someone tries to start the car, this might help.

Have you tried to go around the ignition switch and work backwards. Short a live 12volt wire to the start position on the starter to see if it cranks. If so, move backwards point by point terminal by terminal. I suspect there is a very high resistance connection when warm in the steering column or switch if you have indeed replaced all the things that you say.

I forget, is this car computer controlled as far as starting is concern? I don't think so, but I am not familiar with the indigneous model. Is there a neutral safety switch on the auto that could be the culprit?

Just some basic guesses.
