I am having a problem with my 79's ignition/steering column. The problem is the key will not go all the way forward to the start position or all the way back to the lock position or acc. position. The shifter in this car was replaced by the original owner. Did the 79's have a neutral safety switch. If so, where is it located.

Any help will be appreciated.

Grab the column tword the guages and twist clockwise the counter clockwise till it stops.
