Would like some sudgestions on how far my fan blade should be from the rad i do have a factory shrould.Right now it is very close i read that with a shrould the blade should be at least half in and with out a shrould very close is this so could this be why i run a little hotter than i like.Cooling system is in good shape and timing jetting are fine.What you all think.Have a good day buds.Don 396.

fan should be half in and half out of the shroud to be most effective.

Half in/half out is correct, and the fan doesn't want to be any closer to the core than 2 inches. Although some get away with closer, proper minimumspace is 2 inches or more.
