Pulled my tank and it has a little surface rust right where the sender goes it and it seems almost impossible to get it cleaned without getting dirt and rust into the tank. Would hate to run that through my engine but also don't want to have to buy a new tank.

Any ideas?

Go to Eastwood's (http://www.eastwoodco.com) web site. They have a product that etches the tank, cleans it, then seals it with a latex-like sealer. All you need is to have the tank in your hands and an old chain to drop inside and scruff it up. Oh, and a pair of earphones or ear plugs. :D

Thanks but that Eastwood stuff is a way beyond what needs to be done. I just got a shop vac and sucked all the crap out, the inside is not rusty and does not leak. The outside has a little surface rust but not that bad.

Tank is in good shape actually just needs some TLC.
