OK This might be a stupid question but I was changing my water thermastat and gasket on my water neck trying to get my car to run a little cooler. I was looking in my service manual and it showed a picture of a 1st gen Camaro and had the heater hoses running differently than mine is set up. So now Im confused on the routing.
I have the top smaller hose (connected to my intake manifold)running to the bottom pipe on the heater. Then the larger hose that runs from my waterpump attache to the top outlet on the heater. The manual shows the opposite.
What is the proper routing??

I dont have ac 327 block in a 68.

Thanks!!

I don't know which manual you have, but it's wrong. The hose from the intake manifold (hot coolant outlet) ALWAYS goes to the bottom heater core inlet, and the hose from the top heater core outlet ALWAYS goes to the water pump (inlet). This way the heater core is always free of air bubbling noises, as any air is always at the top of the core, not at the bottom where the coolant enters.
