View Full Version : what torque for header bolts? 68dailydriver Aug 31st, 01, 08:46 PM what lb./ft. should header bolts be torqed to? joe clance Aug 31st, 01, 08:57 PM 65ft lbs on cast iron heads. Not sure on aluminum DjD Sep 1st, 01, 07:11 AM I think 65ft/lbs is too much for headers. It would be about right for SBC heads though (65-68). ARP recomends 36ft/lbs w/arp lube and 46ft/lbs w/oil for 3/8 16 threads per inch. www.arp-bolts.com/ (http://www.arp-bolts.com/) ------------------ ...Dennis '69 RS Convertible w/SS trim (http://www.camaroslimited.com/memberscars/den.htm) '96 Z28SS #1679 of 2410 (http://www.camaroslimited.com/graphics/memcars/96ss.jpg) "The Club" (http://camaroslimited.com) |
