Hey Guys,

I need some help. I own a 1984 Z28. Has a 305 engine. The previous owner got rid of the crossinjection & Comp. It now has a carb & a mechanical distribiuter. My car drives fine (when cold) but after 20 minutes it starts stalling and stops running. I changed the platina & condensor, spark plugs, replaced termostat, drained radiator and refilled the coolant. The water pump is O.K.
The fan is also O.K. I checked the oil...also o.k. The coolant hoses are new. But still it stops running when it gets hot.

help help help anyone....

Clogged cat? bad choke adjustment?

Forgot to add.... I've got hooker headers..no cat. and also no choke..

check the fuel pump.. the engine may be vapor locking.

Not exactly the same problem, but close. Have you checked the fuel filter in the
carb and/or the one in the fuel tank (if
it has one)?

no choke? heck theres the prob it runs fine when cold then when hot it stalls? the choke plate is probably shut or partly open,you need the choke operating for the carb to work?good-luck...

Hey Guys,

Found the problem....tireblazin68 was right..
I changed the fuelpomp and the problem was gone...I put in a new 15psi carter pump with a nice presure regulater and I'm running like before again...I thank you all for your help...
