I'm looking to add a power brake booster to my 68's 4-wheel drum setup. Does anyone know what boosters will interchange?
OK, dont laugh, but does anyone know where to get an inexpensive remanufactured (in zinc dichromate - not painted) or at least a good used one?

Still kicking myself for not picking that one up at the Norwalk Super Chevy show! DOH!
Rebuilt and replated for $100...and I passed! Kick me now.....
To add to DelGratta's question....are the '69 and '68 boosters the same?
Also, what would need to be changed to make a non-power 4-wheel drum setup into a power system? A booster is a given...but what about the master cylinder? Does is need to be swapped? How about the linkage?

Not according to the parts interchange book. There 2 different manufactures, Moraine and Bendix that can'tbe interchanged as they require different master cylinders. '67-'68 will swap if they are matched with the master cylinder. For '69 disc (Moraine) the '69-70 Nova used the same part (pn5469405).
For '68 drums you can get the booster off a '67 or '68 camaro or a '68 nova. Again you have to match the booster brand with the master cylinder...

The boosters for drum and disc were different and the part # and specs changed almost every year.
I'd look for a 67-9 F-body or a 68-7? Nova booster from a drum brake car. Should be close enough to be no issue.

Look in the brakes and suspension area. I posted some info not too long ago on a company in Washington or Oregon. I believe the cost to rebuilt and replate was around $150.

Great News! I just picked up a zinc plated / rebuilt booster for $130. He's sending both arm styles so I don't have to take the master cylinder off right now. Thanks for all the info guys!!

I still have my power drum set-up in the garage but the booster only has tab at the top with 0749 stamped on it, maybe after market stamp. I do have a rebuilt Bendix master cylinder that went on it and maybe you could find the booster by the master cylinder. It is stamped 2225901P on the bottom and IT6145K on the reservoir.
Hope this helps.
