Just picked up what I think is an original Van Nuys '69 Z without the original motor. The pad is stamped V1229TBB. Casting date looks to be L139. Anybody familiar with this code?

Car is an 04C build, 711 interior, 10 B paint.
Rearend is BO coded, trans I think is original but not sure yet. Muncie shifter unit is original. Has the correct pitman arm, tac and brake booster. Just got it yesterday.

I'm showing TBB to be a 1970 or 1979 350 block for truck with a manual transmission. Since the casting date is L139, I would assume it's for the 1970 model. Any of the other original engine parts (heads, intake, carb) still on the car?

Thanks for the reply.
The heads are angle plug heads, the intake is also an after market aluminum high rise as is the Holley. Runs and sounds awesome.
I'm going to check today to see what else I can find.

Here is the one I just bought. Has all the indications it's an original Z. No papers.

My Van Nuys Z is a 03D build .Our VIN's are about 1,000 apart and our trim tag body number is a little less than 14,000 apart

By the way...Van Nuys car..look for the Build Sheet on top of the tank !Keep them fingers crossed

Where in Northern California are you? My build sheet was not intact but if the trans is original it should be a 660 case and it should have the VIN on the main case rear flange on the pass. side . Is the UH radiator still intact ? I just went through all of this.

I'll be dropping the tank soon, I'm not too hopeful as the tank is slightly loose and I've looked around the edges already and don't see anything. The trans. is date coded 0318 but I can't find a VIN. Definitley appears original with the correct case and tailpiece numbers. Muncie shifter unit looks original. Radiator with the CB stamping and the UH tag is gone. Has the original 8 grand tac, 4 leaf springs, original looking 9204 brake booster julian date coded 80 which is correct for the car. BO stamped, Feburary build rear end, (3.73 open). All indicators of an original Z but no proof....
