View Full Version : 69 air cleaner/breather assy djlynch98 May 22nd, 04, 03:57 PM Guys trying to track down correct assy for my 69 ss 350 L48. Should the lid be chrome? Thanks Dave BH69Camaro May 23rd, 04, 06:33 AM The original air cleaner from my L-48 (350 Cu in, 300 HP) is the single snorkel base with a black lid. Also, from what I've read and pictures I've seen, this is correct. Brian 1967 Panther May 23rd, 04, 09:57 AM I wonder why LM1's had chrome lids? William May 23rd, 04, 11:53 AM A 1969 Camaro SS 350 w/SS hood used the standard production 4-barrel air cleaner assembly with a chrome lid. A manual trans air cleaner used a plain snorkel; automatics used a snorkel having a vacuum-operated valve with a tube connected to the RH exhaust manifold. 36j1967 May 23rd, 04, 05:40 PM Same chrome lid as the 68 or different? Pat BH69Camaro May 23rd, 04, 05:58 PM The reason I thought it was black is because of the air cleaner I have. Plus, the 1969 Camaro Factory Assembly Manual (Page 297) says the air cleaner and silencer assembles same as the RPO L65, shown on Page 305. Sorry for the incorrect info...but I thought I was right, oh well. Brian 36j1967 May 23rd, 04, 08:53 PM Brian, we have not reached a conclusive answer yet. Your information is useful and appreciated. Pat Kurt S May 24th, 04, 11:49 AM Brian, Assembles the same means it fits together the same way. Doesn't mean anything about the design or finish of the parts. Pat, Bill's answer is definitive. BH69Camaro May 25th, 04, 05:21 PM Kurt, Thanks for clarifying that for me, it's good to keep on learning things like that. Brian |
