Was wondering if any one knows a time frame when the trim rings for the YH wheels were changed? According to The definitive 69 Z28 Fact Book by MacNeish, 2 versions were used- The type that had 4 retaining clips ( GM part # 3901708 ) and also the type that had all the little fingers or serations around the trim ring ( GM part # 9796696 ). My 06A Z28 has the 4 clip type, and there was also a card showing how to remove this type in the glove box along with the protecto plate and warranty book when i bought the car back in 73. I have bought a few YH wheels lately for another Friends 69 and noticed that the 3 dated Jan/Feb/Mar/69 had the marks from the serrations except for the later dated YH wheels from April/69 on. Hope some wise soul can shed some lite on this. Thanks in Advance.

I thought the 4 clip was original and the full ring clips were service replacements but I have nothing to back that up. Maybe someone with access to better info can run those part numbers and check.
