Finally got around to getting the code numbers off of my rear axle.

The number is: BP 1206 G2

The car is a 69 base coup with 327/210hp engine,
originally with a powerglide and 10 bolt diff. with mono springs.

I'm especially interested in the rear gear ratio numbers for this diff.

BP = 2.73:1 non-posi
12 = December
06 = Sixth day of month
G = Detroit Gear & Axle
2 = Second shift

I'm glad to finally know what I have. I recently installed a th350 trans. in this car. It helped quite a bit.

No wonder it doesn't spin the rear tires very easily.
