Out of 2000 69's, we haven't seen any 65-F cars, and 2 show up in a week, both in the same area of Michigan no less!
You have a real early car. The date code should be 08D.
Could you post your VIN?
Thanks!

Could you post the VIN please.
Also the 88D, is this 08D?
The D170 does have little meaning. Some may
say that this is the 170th car made during the D period when actually it has not been
determined if the D period began with 001.
All Van Nuys Camaros have this 4 letter code.
Steve McCorry has a database of about 250+
LA built cars. There is a correlation with
this code being a build sequence number.
For instance a car with a VIN of 124379L511000 built 11C could have the the code H023 and another car with the VIN 124379L512000 built 11C could have the code J177. the second car is 1000 units after. The letter code do ascend A thru Z as the VIN
number ascends. It just hasnt been determined
what the number means necessarily.
Hope this isnt confusing

The D period (Roughly Thursday the 28th of August 1968) did begin at 1, as did all the other periods. However, since LA built other car lines beside the Camaro the number 1 car may or may not be a Camaro. Plus these dates are associated with the assembly schedule for the body of the car in the Fisher side of the plant. In this case the body was scheduled to be built on 8/28/68. It may not have been completed as a complete running vehicle until the 29th, or later.

Thanks for the quick responses. I assumed the build date was 88d, but one of the tag
rivets blocks out most of the first number
8 as this an early car. As for being two 65 f
cars in the same area, that's probably my
mistake with the computer. as far as I know
the car is a SS 396, 4 speed coupe.I'm fairly
new to camaros. Also, here is the
vin# 124379L500079. thanks again

65-F is Olympic Gold with brown top. Someone else posted numbers from their car last week with the same color.
Thanks for the VIN.
Let me know if you have any questions about your car.

Just Think if it was car #69 ? for Kurt and others if it was #69 and being a 69 model would the value go up at all like it does in sports when say you get an autograph item numberd to 500 and say you get autograph card #23/500 . a card like this for M Jordan would almost triple in price.
