elcamino Feb 20th, 05, 02:34 AM There is only one reason someone would buy this and that is to make money. Be careful buying restored cars, it may have been something like this to start with.
KevinW Feb 20th, 05, 03:10 AM Wow, that is a very late car, november 69! But not much left, can you say rebody?
thorpe67RS Feb 20th, 05, 04:01 PM $2,000 for a firewall...i have seen it all now.

Mark C Feb 22nd, 05, 01:00 PM 2800 with just over an hour to go. That's almost twice what I paid for my pace car in 84 and i could drive it home.
kz1000ltd Feb 22nd, 05, 02:18 PM "private auction - bidders' identities protected"
How convenient.........
bilodeaulynn Feb 22nd, 05, 03:38 PM Hey Mark C.
I paid $900 for my 69 Z in 1976, with only 24000 miles on it. Yeah, it needed some work, but nothing like the one in the auction. Don't get me started on what we could have bought. In 1972 I passed on a red 67 Z/28, for the total sum of $1,000.00 because second gear was noisy. Friend of mine bought it and totalled it. Pulled out in front of a moving car and got "T" boned so bad the dash was an inverted "V" shape. Engine ended up in another friend's 57 Chevy.
Here is the kicker. A few years ago, he tracked down the salvage yard where the car had been, and it was mysteriously gone!!! Guarantee you that someone did a "rebody" on that one. In fact, now that I think about it, I will try and get the VIN to post here, just in case it shows up as "numbers matching" at Barret Jackson.
